A “New Western” Gin

Traditional London Dry Gins contain a lot of juniper berries. Other herbs play a secondary role. In recent years, demand is shifting toward New Western Gins. This new type contains several flavor-defining botanicals that, together with juniper berries, give a surprising and sometimes complicated aroma and taste. Loopuyt is overwhelmingly a New Western gin.

Nature is unruly

All of Loopuyt’s raw materials come directly from nature. It is great to be pure nature, yet the preparation does not always go over roses. If changing weather conditions have occurred during the growing period, the taste or smell of the fruit or herb may well be stronger or weaker than normal.

12 distillates

All our 12 herbs, berries, seeds, peels we distill separately. Each distillate is strictly checked for taste and aroma. If deviations are detected, we search until we reach our strict quality requirements. Only when all 12 components are perfect is the gin assembled. The end product is therefore very consistent in quality
